The Story Behind Mission Road
Mission Road was born in the summer of 2021, a collaboration between the soulful vocalist Christina Alexander and the talented keyboard player and songwriter Elliot Simon. The band takes its name from the street where Christina resided, nestled on a mountain near Harpers Ferry, WV. This location not only inspired the band’s name but also its unique sound, which blends country music with pop, roots rock, and Americana influences.
As the band grew, they welcomed pedal steel/steel guitarist Chris Thompson, bassist Paulie Coconuts, and drummer/percussionist Dru Broome into their fold. Each member brought their own musical influences, enriching the band’s sound and expanding their creative horizons. Elliot’s songwriting prowess shines through in their debut album, ‘All I Want to Say,’ released in December 2023, featuring 13 tracks, 10 of which are original compositions.
Based in Harpers Ferry, Mission Road has carved out a niche in the music scene, performing at numerous venues across the Mid-Atlantic and beyond. Their journey is a testament to their dedication to music and their roots in the vibrant community of Harpers Ferry.
